Sun Chemical to Distribute Apollo Printers Print E-mail

MIDSOMER NORTON, UK – 3 November 2008 – Sun Chemical aims to help wide format printers increase productivity and profitability by signing a deal to become a UK distributor for the new Apollo series of multi-functional, UV wide format printers.

The Apollo series, which was launched at Sign & Digital UK 2008, comprises of four models, which have a width ranging from 1.6 metres to 3.2 metres. All printers in the series produce ultra-high quality images direct to a wide variety of inexpensive, uncoated substrates, from rigid display boards to roll-fed media.  The fast and affordable printer range is available four or six-colour format, to meet specific customer requirements, plus white and varnish.

Mike Farmer, Equipment Manager, Sun Chemical, said: "We chose the Apollo range for its build quality and price performance, and it complements our range of inks, chemicals and screen-related consumables.  We are confident that we can now supply an Apollo printer to suit every requirement and budget. Our customers' needs and applications in this market vary enormously - from vehicle graphics and estate agent boards to exhibition graphics and high quality POS - therefore, it is important to provide a range of printers which can cope with this diversity.

"These applications and markets have been served traditionally by screen process printing.  However, the digital process is now well established and is very much seen as a complimentary offering to allow printers to deliver short-run production economically without compromising on quality.  Apollo is also priced as an entry level investment, which fits well with printers which want to expand their capabilities.  With the Apollo range, printers can also benefit from increased productivity and profitability, as the output does not require laminating or mounting to achieve rigidity and protection for outdoor application.

Sun Chemical is demonstrating the new Apollo printers at an Open House at its showroom in Bardon, Leicester, between 25 - 27 November. Printers can register their attendance or request further information by contacting Mike Farmer on +44 (0) 7748 335837 or This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it , or their local Sun Chemical salesman or distributor.
